Frequently Asked Questions
The home will need to be vacant during the VaPURE treatment process, so plan a place for you and your pets to be during the services. You will receive a message a few days prior to your service that will confirm your appointment and give basic instructions on how to prepare your home. They are simple things like open all closets, close all windows, etc.
Pure Maintenance has not received reports of issues with wall art, paintings, or electronics, but many people feel more comfortable taking expensive paintings down or covering them with a blanket as an extra precaution.
You will be back in your home the same day. Each job is different, but an average-size home typically takes around 3-4 hours depending on outdoor temperature and whether windows can be opened afterward. You may notice a slight scent when you return, which dissipates quickly after ventilation.
No, in fact, you want to keep as many of your belongings inside the home as possible. The VaPURE™ process reaches virtually every hard non-porous surface in the property — including the ones traditional spraying and wiping can't access — so keeping your belongings inside lets us treat them too.
Our patented VaPURE™ system creates particles around 7.5 microns — small enough to travel through gaps and small openings, and much smaller than a typical mold spore (12-30 microns). For most mold issues, our process reaches the hard non-porous surfaces in your home that need treatment. In cases where there is a known issue behind a wall, we can poke small holes between studs to apply the sterilant inside the wall cavity.
Not at all. There's no need for additional cleaning of items in the home after treatment.
Your technician will take an air sample after the treatment and send it to an independent third-party laboratory that has no affiliation with any mold testing or remediation companies. You will receive the lab results by email approximately 10 days after the treatment.
